Sports Day 2016

30th June 2016

Sports Day was another great success last week.

Setting up in the pouring rain at 5am, we weren’t sure it was going to happen at all.  Fortunately the rain cleared and we had a fantastic day.

Thank you to all of the parents who arrived from 6am to help us set up on Parkers Piece, to all of our staff who worked so hard to make the day so successful, to the Young Sports Leaders from St Matthew’s and the Year 7 children from Parkside who helped lead activities, and as always thank you to Mr Collard for his superb planning, organisation and dedication to make a very complex operation run so smoothly.

A highlight was the awarding of the new “Margaret Gillies Fair Play Cup” to the classes who demonstrated the most sporting behaviour throughout the event.  It was a very special moment when Mrs Gillies was there to present the cup for the afternoon events to Mrs Isaac/Mr Evan’s class.  Well done to Mrs Lloyd’s class, winners of the morning’s Fair Play Cup, and to all of the children who displayed outstanding behaviour throughout.

Below are a few photos from the day.
