Free School Meal Vouchers

Children who receive free school meals are entitled to meal vouchers that can be redeemed at local supermarkets.  (Please note - this does not apply to all children in Reception, Year One and Year Two who normally receive Universal Infant Free School Meals.  This is for children who are eligible for free meals because someone in their family is in receipt of certain benefits.  You can find out if you are eligible and apply here - https://www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/residents/children-and-families/schools-learning/help-with-school-learning-costs/free-school-meals).

We initially set up our own system, giving parents and carers a weekly voucher worth £11.50 .  Since then, the government has announced its own national system of vouchers.  This system will give a voucher worth £15 a week, term time only.

We are now set up on the national system and parents and carers should receive their first £15 vouchers  for each child on 13th April.  We intend to use our own voucher system to send vouchers during the school holidays.  This means parents should receive vouchers as follows:
  • Monday 6th April - voucher worth £11.50 using the school system
  • Monday 13th April, and each week throughout the next half term - weekly voucher worth £15 from the government national system.
Below you can find the "Frequently Asked Questions" document for the national system.
